School Vision
Do to others as you would like them to do to you
Luke 6:31
Welcome to
Nestled in the picturesque seaside town of Lyme Regis, at the heart of the stunning Jurassic Coast, St Michael’s is a vibrant and nurturing Church of England school. We are proud to be part of the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust (DSAT), sharing the core Christian values of Love, Hope, and Joy.
At St Michael’s, our vision is rooted in the words of Jesus: “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” This guiding principle, together with our shared values; Respect, Honesty, Compassion, Kindness and Trust, shapes every aspect of school life. We strive to create a caring and inclusive environment where these values are lived out daily, and where every child is encouraged to grow in character, confidence, and community.
We invite you to explore our website to discover more about our school, our values, and the enriching experiences we offer.

Our Collective Worship: Compassion Children at St Michael's have been leading collective worship to help everyone learn about our school value of compassion. They have shared stories, acted out examples, and talked about how we can show compassion in our everyday lives. We learned that compassion means: Caring for others noticing when someone needs help Showing empathy understanding how others feel Helping kindly offering support without being asked Including everyone making sure no one feels left out
Our Collective Worship: Kindness Children at St Michael's have been leading collective worship to help everyone learn about our school value of kindness. They have shared stories, acted out examples, and talked about how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in our school. We learned that kindness means: Helping others offering support when someone needs it Using kind words speaking gently and respectfully Sharing and taking turns making sure everyone feels included Showing respect treating people the way you would like to be treated Children led prayers, reflections, and activities that encouraged everyone to think about how kindness spreads through our actions. Their leadership showed warmth, confidence, and a real desire to make St Michael's a friendly and caring place for all.
Our Collective Worship: Trust Our amazing Children at St Michael's have been planning and leading collective worship to help everyone learn about our school value of trust, They have shared stories, acted out ideas, and talked about how we can show trust every day. We learned that trust means: Being honest telling the truth, even when it's hard Being reliable doing what you say you will do Working together helping each other and sharing responsibilities Being kind showing others they can feel safe with you Children showed great confidence and teamwork, trusting one another to speak, read, act, and lead prayers. Their worship helped us think about how trust makes our school a happier, safer place for everyone.
So proud of our amazing children for their fantastic singing at the Busking Festival yesterday They represented St Michael's brilliantly. Huge thank you to all the parents for bringing them along and supporting!
A huge thank you to all our parents and carers for your wonderful support on Sports Day. Your encouragement, enthusiasm and positive spirit helped make the event such a success for the children. We are very grateful for your continued support of our school community!
We are incredibly proud of our amazing Year 6 children at St Michael's Primary School, Lyme Regis, who completed their SATs last week with such resilience and determination. To celebrate their hard work, commitment, and the kindness they've shown to one another throughout the year, we were delighted to present them with their leavers' hoodies. A well-deserved milestone well done, Year 6!
We were delighted to welcome Peter and Lynn into school today, who led our collective worship so beautifully. They shared with us the value of kindness, encouraging everyone to think about the small, everyday actions that can make a big difference to others. Through the parable of the yeast, pupils reflected on how even the tiniest acts can grow into something powerful and meaningful within our school community. Thank you, Peter and Lynn, for inspiring us all and helping us to continue building a culture of care, respect and kindness at St Michael's.
Dear Members of our School Community, I am delighted to share the exciting news that we have been successful in our application for funding to create a school based nursery. This funding will enable us to make the necessary adaptations to the building and to develop the nursery provision fully, including the purchase of appropriate furniture, resources and equipment to create a high-quality early years learning environment. Building works are scheduled to begin in early June and will also include the alterations to the front of the school, internal works within the KS1 area, and the creation of new outdoor decking and landscaped spaces. We anticipate the works to be completed over the summer holiday, in time for our return and the start of the Autumn term in September. These improvements will support both the new nursery and the wider school environment, ensuring safe, welcoming and purposeful spaces for our children. This is a significant and exciting development for St Michael's and reflects our ongoing commitment to providing outstanding education and care from the very earliest stages. We are very much looking forward to the launch of the nursery and the opportunities it will bring for children, families and the local community. We will continue to keep you updated as work progresses and share further information over the coming weeks. Exciting times lie ahead, and I am really looking forward to this next chapter for our school. Yours sincerely, Nick Kiddle Head Teacher
We were delighted to welcome the RNLI lifeguards into school this week! The children learned how to stay safe at the beach, including understanding the flags, what to do in an emergency, and how to look after themselves and others near water. There was also lots of fun and practical activity, and we were really impressed with how much the children already knew and the thoughtful questions they asked. A huge thank you to the RNLI for such an informative and enjoyable visit!
Spirituality Day at St Michael's Today our whole school came together to explore what spirituality means to us as a community. Through symbols like the boat, church window, yellow path, cross, and our beautiful ammonite, children reflected on their journey, their values, and their big questions about the world. A key message of the day was the reminder to "Do to others as you would have them do to you" a simple but powerful guide that shapes how we treat one another with respect, kindness, honesty, trust, and compassion. Pupils shared their hopes, dreams, moments of gratitude, and the people who help guide their path. A day filled with curiosity, calm, reflection and growth. We grow together, beautifully and uniquely.
Lister Class & Langmoor Class – Computing Collaboration! Today our pupils from Lister and Langmoor worked brilliantly together on their computing curriculum, exploring and programming Micro:bits. It was wonderful to see our Year 5 and 6 'Teachers' step into their leadership roles with confidence and maturity. One of them proudly said, "We're using the 'I do, We do, You do' way of teaching, just like in class!" We couldn't be prouder of how all our children supported one another, showing our school values of kindness and respect every step of the way. Fantastic teamwork, problem solving, and learning from everyone involved!
